While working on this piece, I was able to think again about the life of my grandmother who passed away. I don”t know the details, but I think her life as a woman was much harder, more sacrificed and discriminated against. However, she didn’t surrender to it and continued to pioneer her life with strong will.
She started learning “Hangeul” at a late age in her late 60″s. “Hangeul” is my country letter. Learning at that time was not easy for her, but she didn’t give up. I still have that image vividly in my memory.
This piece expresses the memory of that time.

I admire her strong will. This is like a heritage to me.
I’m grateful that her DNA is running in my blood.
