The war my parents experienced was not so long ago.
My father went across Asia as a soldier, and I heard my mother practiced with bamboo spear for the final battle.
Until the atomic bomb was dropped, the Japanese people believed that Japan would win the war.
At that moment, all the glass disappeared and scattered and stuck everywhere.
A large mushroom cloud spread .and about 350,000 peoples died. The city of Hiroshima was engulfed in flames.
Japan became the first country to receive a nuclear bomb.
After the war, Japan made a new start with regrets and redemption.
The Atomic Bomb Dome is a negative heritage that only Japan can convey and a message to the world.
War should never be repeated!!
If there is the time to use a nuclear bomb, it may be the future of the world shatter like glass in an instant.

Yours is a powerful, and personal message. This is brave work, and shows how art can change the world as long as people observe and think.
What a wonderful quilt for heritage. I hope that no one else has to experience the horror of nuclear bomb.
Thank you for your comment. The atomic bomb may be a double -edged sword. Japan gave up fighting with bamboo spears until the last man..
Oh my gosh. I did not realize this powerful monument was there. The historic crime of the US dropping the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki remains perhaps second only to the Nazi Holocaust which killed 6 million mostly Jews in world history.
To this point.
Your quilt is a powerful reminder.
What a beautiful translation of this sad event. Your effect is top notch. We hope there will never be another war.
Mikki, your strong and beautiful art sends a message that resounds boldly and with a message to each of us to take seriously. As I stop to remember, the world waits.
This is very emotional Mikki. A beautiful piece.
