….still 2 weeks to go with the theme “Anatomy”. This is a very interesting theme. Your first thought is, what should I do with this now. But the more you engage with it, the more interesting it becomes. I made another mind map.
It is difficult to choose between the 3 large groups, human, animal or vegetable. With human anatomy, I soon came across a nice picture of the nerve endings. This would fit nicely with my quilt “Secret thoughts”. The secret thoughts in your head combined with the ends of the nerves creates connections. I also had a self-dyed blue piece of fabric in mind.

Yet that idea did not make it to the finish line. I also browse a lot on Pinterest. Regarding Anatomy, you can’t ignore Betty Busbi. She makes such beautiful quilts and is an icon in this field. But I don’t want to imitate her. So that idea also did not make it.
Then the anatomy of the plants. I see a lot of possibilities here. As a florist I love nature and everything that has to do with it.
In the past I once made a proof of concept of a Physalis. In Dutch, that plant is called a ‘lantern plant’. In the last stage of this plant you only see the skeleton and the fruit. I could take this proof of concept and make it much bigger!!

Maybe I’ll do that some day, with the help of Cameo Silhouette. Lisa Walton, you also use this technique and I would like to learn it. My daughter has this device, but currently has no time to work with me.
You see, doubts everywhere!
Until I read the Blog of Bethany, “Anatomy-Inside Connections”.
I knew exactly what I was going to do. My quilt is already ready, but in 2 weeks I will reveal the secret. So just a little bit more patience.

I wish I was as good at weighing different ideas. Once I think of something I stubbornly plow through. And, speaking of stubborn, my mind substituted “skeleton” for “Anatomy,” with apologies to Regina!
Elfriede, I felt from the beginning that you had a plan along the way that would bring this art challenge to the finish line. I hoped that somehow the world that evolves in the landscape outdoors would challenge your design! So exciting…love the path you took to decide.
Bethany I’m still happy with the choice I made! In hindsight, it was the right way. It’s great that we can encourage and activate each other.
Look forward to seeing it. You should borrow the Cameo and just start playing. I am feeling so much better about mine now that I have had more experience with it. It has a big learning curve but has so much potential.
Thank you Lisa for your encouraging words, I will take it to heart. Your quilts look so beautiful!!
I can’t wait to see what you finally decided on, your ideas were all so interesting!
Regina, just a little patience…. ♀️
I discarded the nerve ending idea, too. Great minds think alike.
Deb, Thank you for your comment, I spoke from my heart
