Blue and white dishes are my favorites
I love my kitchen. Everyone gathers there to socialize and eating is often secondary. I have a desk but choose to do all my computer work at my large kitchen table and spread as many books, files and miscellaneous necessary supplies (aka junk) nested around me as I work. Kitchen Is home to me.
Kitchen to me also means dishes. I collect dishes-teapots of all kinds, old bits and bobs of china plates that I stack clay flowerpots on, pink depression glass and old coffee cups from vacations and colleges that the kids attended that are chipped and well used. It really is not something to be proud of at this stage of my life ( hoarding dishes in my kitchen) when one should be thinking of smaller. I am not thinking of smaller but just enjoying what I have.
Resale shop dishes I did not buy
I also love scoping out dishes when we go on vacation to see what is the trend for that area on rainy days. That’s what we did today on the way to buy groceries . We perused the resale and antique stores for old and new dishes. I don’t know why I love them so much.
I guess I just want my heart of the home, the kitchen, to have colorful dishes to enjoy meals on. And I love to add color to my life on a dreary winter day.
