People stay home. Covid-19 brings anxiety to our
world
An elderly lady has a house in our neighborhood.
She fell down the stairs and is forced to live by the window.
She told me it is quiet and calm, but lonely.
She reads books, makes crafts and remembers the old days.
Social media is too defamatory and unrealistic.
She watches her mailbox, hopes for a letter, but just gets direct mail.
This is isolation.
I had an image of her isolation.

This is such a beautiful piece, Mikiko. Your colors really help evoke the feeling of loneliness.
Mikki, you capture this loneliness so beautifully!
This tells a sad, simple story with delicacy and compassion. This piece is so beautiful! The textures, the sensitive line work, the humanity of the figure in the window. Very affecting..
Thank you . you are kind.
Sadly so true… and the earth cries. This is a beautiful representation of what so many are feeling… I wish I could send her a letter!
So very beautiful
I love the jagged edges, yet softness of this work of art
It would be wonderful if many of us could send her a note to brighten her isolation since she looks forward to the mail!
Lovely but sad story
