A fresh start and a new challenge this fourth round of Cloth in Common. Change in pace! You can go both ways, the slow or the fast! As I wrote in my previous blog, I already made this quilt in 2017.
He is nominated in the category “Fine Art Master” in 2018 in Birmingham, England. It was a great honor for me at the time.
The theme then was “speed”.
My ideas and starting point about this quilt;
We live in a world that is going faster and faster. There are more and more People living on this earth. Traffic is getting busier and busier. The roads need to be wider, to regulate traffic. Day and night it goes on and on.
That was my vision of life in 2017 and now 6 years later nothing has changed. We are a corona period and a war further. Nothing has changed. This theme is still relevant.
Size: 40″ x 54”

Technique: machine piecing and raw edge applique
Longarm quilted
Stunningly beautiful, Elfriede and the exciting use of vibrance in colour and line… the riders and the mountain hillsides are all a part of this exciting story. Just wonderful, and you are so right about the changes in pace for all humans these days.
