Revolution is a frightening, but necessary possibility in many places in the world today.  I feel like we need Mighty Mouse, Superman, Wonder Woman, Matt Dillon, Andy Griffith, Mr. Rogers, Batman and Robin, Pollyanna, Captain America, Clint Eastwood, and the Hulk – all of them to step in and fix things here in the USA, as well as elsewhere in places where evil is rampant.   

My quilt WILL have hints of protest symbolism in it.  As such, it may end up being censored, but that’s a chance I will gladly take. 

I will also incorporate the aspect of going in circles.  I’ll be referencing some car hubcap designs that I spotted in Georgia a while ago.  I knew that they would come in handy someday, and, miraculously, I found the images while looking for something else. 

While I have the floor, I would like to honor a dear friend, Mary McBride, who for years has championed artists and their work as a curator, founder of a fabulous annual artist retreat in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and bringing art to elderly and handicapped folks.  Mary passed away last week, leaving many of us heartbroken at her loss, but grateful for the longtime friendships that she set in motion.  Mary McBride, we love you, and we appreciate all you did for us.  Thanks for the MANY happy memories with you.
