Today is moving day from a large home studio to a smaller rented studio in a local Church.
Today we also moved from the large home to a large apartment. No more shovelling snow, cutting grass or taking care of the pool and gardens. A bitter sweat adventure for sure. It is amazing how much “stuff” one collects over the years! The transformation is mind boggling! This last two months have been one transformation after another. Selling our house, me having total knee replacement, a Studio Tour, classes cancelled and massive purging!
You can see the mess I was in with moving the studio….there is no sense showing you the the mess of moving our residence!
Hi Al, Goodness, so many things happening in your life at once. I hope by now there is some calm and you are settling into your new home and studio. Best wishes
All the best in your move. With Pixeladies retirement, we are cleaning out the studio–purging. I’m a hoarder of stuff that could be used in art projects, so it’s bittersweet. But the upside is that instead of sharing the studio, I will have it all to myself.
Ah, your story has resonance with so many in our generation. Except for me. I never had the large home to transform out of! But still, I’ve certainly had to do the purging. And need to do it again. Best wishes for the transformation.
I have always admired your beautiful art, Al, but more than that, I am so taken by your strength and ability to make things happen as life changes and we walk new paths! One day at a time, you will master the next days!.
I wish you calm once you get through these rigorous transformations. Remember to breathe.
