First of all, I decided to go to the library to investigate issues that I had not thought much about “Anatomy” in my daily life.
“The Transparent Anatomical Specimens Book”
The creations of Iori Tomita, (Japanese ) pioneer in the art of “Transparent Specimens”
It’s appearance has a beauty that is more like sculptured glass.
Originally , immersion in the special chemical was a technique of anatomical research which “made the muscles transparent, and dyed the cartilage blue and the bones red”
Even with tiny fish that are hard to dissect, that have fine bones that look as if they would easily break, he can see the bone just where they are in the living animal, making it possible to observe the bone structure in three dimensions(3D).
These specimens seem to be a work of art that only God could design , and a human artifact could never hope imitate.
The fact that there are beautiful structures in our creatures body.
It was amazing.
Anatomy is the theme of this time ,which makes us feel closer to our life.

Your fish are beautiful and have the feeling of the Japanese art of Fish Printing – Gyotaku. I was fortunate enough to do a workshop with one of the masters a few years ago. Such an interesting process. Your quilt is beautiful especially the transparent nature of the images.
What a fascinating subject you found for this prompt! The colours are beautiful, you truly captured the beauty of the transparent specimens.
I’m learning so much from all of you via the anatomy quilts. Your use of transparency is wonderful.
Thank you begarn! I was encouraged by your comments.
So beautiful and unique this piece is in the flow and intricate designs you have created, Mikiko. I am fascinated by the shapes, the layout of the movement in the art and your colour palette is fascinating. I love it… the world we live in is a mystery and the unique story of anatomy, yes, only God could design.
