My latest piece is called “Viral” and is a reflection of the impact of Social Media, good or bad. I wonder if people think about what they are saying when they post on social media or reply to someone else’s statements? Is it like sometimes replying to an email and reading the wrong intonation into the written word and quickly responding without thinking properly?

If I want to respond out of anger I often write it in draft, read it and digest it again, let it sit for awhile and then read it again. Once I have done this I usually ‘change my mind’ and do not send it!

So thinking on this latest prompt I am conjuring up different imagery to portray in my series. I have an idea based on this quilt but pretty sure the time limit will stop the hand stitching, however it could dictate the direction of the machine quilting….no doubt once I start the piece I will change my mind and head off in a completely different direction….we will all have to wait and see at the end of November.

On another note to all my American friends please stay safe during these awful weather events – take care.

  1. Stopping to think or read before a change of mind is a wise step, and your thoughts and focus are a reminder before the path is underway. Your artwork is stunning, Catherine…
