The life that exists in water can differ, dependent upon the flow, speed, acidity, temperature, clarity, depth, freshness, impurities, irritants, dissolved salts, time of year, tides, weather events, light levels, pollutants, total biomass – so many variables give rise to so many possibilities. Much of the time, we humans cannot, or do not, look below the surface to see what is happening below.
I have tried to imagine a flowing body of water and what you might experience if you could get down amongst it. I imagined the marks and ridges on the floor of the sea or riverbed, carved or incised by waves or flow rate. I could feel the rasp of the old relics of human activity, the nets and the wrecks, I could almost touch the slimy plants that grew in the watery garden. The skeletons of floating creatures that never see the light of day and the weird and unusual algae or possibly corals that grew and spread in the water. A beautiful and unusual world that we humans glimpse rarely.

The scenery in the clear water is very fantastic.
Such an interesting and imaginative design! This makes me want to get started on our next piece.
Bronwyn… love the design and movement here in your art!! The collection of fabrics, the threads, and unique overlay of colour, fine vail, and the various shapes of your applique. Water, beneath – a stunning share!!
Your artwork is stunning! I love the complexity of the background that shows some detail abstract grasses or sticks and bubbles in the foreground. The contrasts are well executed and subtle enough to put me right in the water you are expressing. Well done!
