When we commissioned “wind of change” I thought a lot about the political
situation in the world. The outlook is not very positive. For our small
Netherlands, America is a major player on the world stage. Trust is declining on
all fronts.
Still, I was pleasantly surprised by the news that a few countries around us are
entering into a cooperation agreement.
England, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands will soon build a
large wind farm in the North Sea.
To save costs and to consume the electricity produced together. Together we
are strong in an uncertain world. I call this a positive development.

The street we live on is called Windmill and I had wanted to make a work with
a reference to windmills for a long time. That has now been achieved. The
windmills are made of silk, so you can see the shade of the fabric in the blades.

北海の風車 ’25 「変化の風」を制作した際、世界の政治情勢について深く考えました。見通しはあまり明るくありません。小さなオランダにとって、アメリカは世界舞台で大きな役割を果たしています。あらゆる面で信頼は低下しています。 それでも、近隣諸国が協力協定を締結するというニュースには、嬉しい驚きを感じました。 イギリス、デンマーク、ドイツ、スウェーデン、オランダは、まもなく北海に大規模な風力発電所を建設する予定です。 コストを削減し、生産された電力を共同で消費するためです。私たちは力を合わせれば、不確実な世界の中で強くなれます。これは前向きな展開と言えるでしょう。 私たちが住んでいる通りは「ウィンドミル」と呼ばれており、私は長い間、風車をモチーフにした作品を作りたいと思っていました。そして今、それが実現しました。風車はシルクで作られているので、羽根に布地の色合いが見られます。 サイズ：40×40インチ 素材：インク染めコットン、シルク 技法：アップリケ、ロングアームキルティング
