“Forces that have the power to change things……..used generally to mean change is going to happen.”

In these troubling and uncertain times that are facing the world today including poverty, disease , hunger and political turmoil, one hopes that “a change is gonna come”. A simple change of weather could make the difference between going on a picnic or staying at home. We are disappointed for a short period of time, but know that the sun will probably come back tomorrow. A change in school or home can be a wonderful adventure, or an upsetting situation. In my youth I loved to fly kites, but this to depended on the changing wind, but I could adjust my position and have a successful flight. Today it is not so easy to adjust the “winds of change”. The younger generation worry about their education or purchasing a house or heavy student debt. The older generation worry about their retirement, their health , their children and grandchildren. Changes in attitude about race, immigration, sex and kindness have been drastically altered in the last few years. I remember in the 60’s when I had long hair and The Beatles first “ invaded the world” as my parents would say. They were worried about my generation taking care of them when they were older, thinking we were on the road to destruction. Now all generations worry about TODAY! But just like flying a kite we must look to the clear blue skies , adjust our attitudes, work together and get through all this. The Winds of Change are in our hands. Sounds simple.

  1. Al a visual of kites with protest words on them came to mind as I read this. I’ve been aware while listening to music that I grew up with and love that so much of we have protested and been concerned about through history is very similar today sadly. 2 steps forward and now so many steps back.

  2. The days that bring us family closeness, health, and our focus on the balance of life – all the while sharing that “one day at a time” will ensure the Winds…you can do it!

Tell us what you think.
