A Change I Did Not Ask For!
I realize that changing something in your life can be a sign of growing or perhaps a way to survive.
The changes in the world for reason I refuse to mention have really taken a toll on myself, my family, and even my art work. Never one to voice my opinion on politics, I found it started to show up quietly in my work. So…….I decided that for this prompt I would purposely create something I like. Something that is pleasing to the eye, can be interpreted anyway the viewer wants and has ….really….no message!
the Winds of Change I hope will soon just….BLOW AWAY!
The finished piece is aprox 24” X 41”
I used fabrics and colours I liked. The centre rectangle is separately quilted and hand stitched and appliquéd on the background which was also machine stitched. The “pancake” was attached after the fact.

Isn’t it so freeing to just play with color, shapes, pattern and texture, just for the pure fun of it? I’m glad you got to enjoy that experience in this work! And we get to delight in the results. Beautiful work, Al. Thank you!
Truly beautiful, Al, and I am taken by the movement created and the depth of colour. I see your focus, the beauty of water, and understand the winds of change in your life.
