I painted on a piece of fabric, and ended up using all my colors.
In July I visited New York with my granddaughter, and we had a fabulous view at night from the roof of the house we were staying. Overlooking Manhattan.
Manhattan seen from our roof in Brooklyn.
Could I use my painted fabric and make a sunset quilt?
But what about the Road?
Then I thought the name: Sunset Boulevard would be fine:
Could I make an abstract quilt for a change?
I started tearing the fabric into stripes, and the stripes into rectangles of various sizes.
I tried to think light, medium, dark when arranging the pieces, and I put some focus fabric for the Boulevard (road), and played with it on my design wall till I was satisfied.
