A famous Japanese short story written in 1948 is “Sansyougyo ( Salamander)”.

When one young Japanese Salamander entered a rock hole in search of foods, the food flew in and was easily caught.

He stopped there and managed to get food without moving for years.

One day he tried to go outside, he realized that his body had grown too big and he could not get out of the cave.

And this salamander will live a lonely life in the rock cave.

These slow, goofy, lovable creatures that wait food with their mouths open in the water are now endangered.

And despite their ugly faces, they serve as a barometer of the environment, where they can only live in pure water.

At this time, protecting the outdated creatures leads to protecting the natural environment. Slowing down the pace of destruction of nature and living with such creature will create a happy future for humans.

  1. I always enjoy your art/posts because they bring me a new and stronger understanding of the world around us.This story is especially moving… sad for the salamander, yet we do need to learn and know about the endangered, why creatures are overlooked and what we can do to save them… thank you.
