Recently revisiting my days as a traditional quilter of bed quilts with pieced patterns, I ended up with a lot of scraps in strip form.  I seem to always cut too many strips!  I discovered a pattern using 60-degree triangles that appealed to me, so I began sewing those leftover strips together, cutting out the triangles, and then playing with various arrangements. 

The design went together easily, and this is the result. Here are some detail images.

The quilt pattern reminded me of some paper cutouts that we saw at a festival in Arizona once – party decorations.  This inspired the title ‘Fiesta’. 

I enjoy making quilts with scraps from other projects as they spark memories of past quilts I’ve made and where I acquired the fabrics. 

There is one triangle that is misaligned.  Can you find it?
