How to approach the prompt “Shame” was very difficult for me.
Then, suddenly “Indifference” came to mind. In some ways, the society we live in seems to be accustomed to indifference.
When someone on the street has an accident or is in a difficult situation, there are people who see it and actively help. However, some people just pass by or are busy taking videos with their smartphones. And even if someone commits an injustice or does something bad, people often are indifferent if it’s not related to themselves. Such cases seem to apply to communities or countries as well. Aren’t those things “Shame”?

I hope to be able to speak out without being silent about this shame.

  1. Thank you for your perspective and commitment… this is an issue that we should all be taking seriously as the days move forward. Shame is personal, and we all feel it. We just don’t always know how to address it in our lives.

  2. That’s an interesting take on shame, Eunhee. I’m looking forward to seeing your finished quilt.
