I visited Kuerner Farm in Chadd’s Ford, PA in May, the farm where Andrew Wyeth painted over 1000 of his paintings – one third of his total work. The kitchen was the room that really stuck with me, for the simplicity of its lines and shapes.

Somehow the idea of using that room, with an old bench (instead of the chair) with a quilt on it and a cat’s face peeking out, was my idea for “Faces.” I can’t tell you how I got there. There were a dozen little image flashes and pokes at my imagination, and the fact that I live with two playful cats who like to hide.
