A pivot point arrived in my life when I had our third child in my early 40s. This brought about a total Change of Pace.

Life slowed down, and I had time to spend with my young baby. I also had time to stay in the UK and support Mum, who was diagnosed with cancer.

At this time, I became a quilter. Sewing at home was a perfect occupation with a young child.

When I was a teenager, Mum taught me basic dressmaking skills, and I made my own clothes. I was very familiar with a sewing machine, and making quilts quickly became a passion.

Realizing I could combine my sewing skills with colorful fabrics was a light bulb moment!

My life took on another direction that I’m following to this day.

In all these years, sewing always brought a time of solace.

Accepting that life’s journey is not always smooth, sometimes can be quite painful, just the way it is.
