My identity relates to the community I am with. Growing up in a rural community I have a strong affinity to the land. I am happiest in the green countryside of New Zealand with its richness of colour. However I am also influenced by my interactions in paid work, creative work, family and friends, travel – they all contribute to who I am. They mould me in different ways and open up different opportunites of discovery and growth. The symbol could be the gateway I walk through with them on a new journey or the hours spent around the kitchen table as the hub of community I am with. I wonder which it will represent as I go through this creative journey?
