People stay home. Covid-19 brings anxiety to our

world

An elderly lady has a house in our neighborhood.

She fell down the stairs and is forced to live by the window.

She told me it is quiet and calm, but lonely.

She reads books, makes crafts and remembers the old days.

Social media is too defamatory and unrealistic.

She watches her mailbox, hopes for a letter, but just gets direct mail.

This is isolation.

I had an image of her isolation.

  1. This tells a sad, simple story with delicacy and compassion. This piece is so beautiful! The textures, the sensitive line work, the humanity of the figure in the window. Very affecting..

    1. It would be wonderful if many of us could send her a note to brighten her isolation since she looks forward to the mail!

Tell us what you think.
