This time we are concerned with the change of color.

A great challenge!

As everyone knows, black and white are not colors. All the paint has disappeared from the white and black is so saturated that you can’t recognize other colors.

White represents clarity, purity, snow, cold, enlightenment, and faith. In war, white means surrender.

For example, white is associated with goodness, innocence, and virginity.

Black represents disorientation due to the absence of light.

Black is equated with depth, strength, and protection.

Dignitaries and statesmen often wear black and ride in black limousines.

Black can therefore also radiate aloofness, elegance and dignity.

This fact intrigues me. When it’s dark, what do you see? That kept me busy. If you look at the sky at night, you will also see some color.

I searched for information on the internet and was very surprised. The starry sky offered a multitude of beautiful pictures.

Gathering information is one thing, but carrying it out is a whole different story.

Coincidentally, I had thrown old quilting fabrics, which I didn’t like anymore, in a black dye bath. The result, is a beautiful piece with lighter spots in the middle. My creation was born, the starry sky!

By making a lot of experiments, I tried different things such as punching with silk wick. I sewed black organza pleated and then worked it with the Head gun.

I used the best results in the quilt.

But the most beautiful effect is the Swarovski crystals, they provide a varied color shade.

This quilt Galaxy has already hung at an exhibition in Luxembourg recently. With good lighting, it came into its own extremely well. He garnered a lot of positive reactions. It is a pity that a photo cannot accurately reflect the entire impression.

If you look at the starry sky, you don’t see everything very clearly.

  1. Dark, Moody and Mysterious! What a fabulous interpretation and the use of the crystals is inspired. They look like faraway stars popping out of the night.
