Bridges

I’m afraid I missed my blogging date last week.

It’s no excuse, but I admit to being caught without any idea at all for the “Building Bridges” prompt, though it seems like it should be evocative.

The one thing perhaps I could hang my hat on is some of the success I’ve found in establishing common ground with those I disagree with politically.

I live in a full out “Trumpian” area.  Generations after generation vote as their parent did – Republican.

So I have many friends, neighbors and relatives in this camp.

Nature is often how we connect. Very few can find disagreement with the work my hubby and I have put into our 800 tree forest and our 8 flower and vegetable gardens. They enjoy it as much as we do. So nature become a bridge of a kind between us.

  1. It seems to me that one must be pragmatic in order to get through life. You cannot blame, or hold responsible, everyone for a single decision they made in a voting box. They may not have dreamed the outcomes that have emerged. So, you use whatever bridges you have can to ensure that life remains as civil and normal as possible, that you are still able to communicate and socialise, else you have no future course of action except antagonism and argument. And your garden is very beautiful Martha. Keep building those bridges.

Tell us what you think.
