For this prompt, I have lots of ideas, yet I can’t seem to kick-start myself into action.
My mind is consumed with worry about the situation in the region and the potential outcomes of imminent elections—something I never cared about before. These outcomes could have serious ramifications for us as the regional conflict continues without resolution.

Hand sewing helps in times like these. I’ve pulled out a slow project that I’ve been working on for many years, which has been languishing at the back of a cupboard. The fabrics are small pieces of indigo-dyed and woven cottons and silks purchased in Tokyo during a trip of a lifetime, to study Japanese textile techniques. It’s made up of 3/4″ paper hexagons, with seven sewn together to make a flower. The technique is EPP (English Paper Piecing). The quilt is almost complete—at least, I think it is!

Having a small activity to sit with helps me to stay calm as I ponder what I want to make next, while I’m in “The Space in Between.” prompts
