I soon arrived at an event from my childhood regarding this theme. I was about 9 years old and was arguing with my younger sister. I was angry. I grabbed an object and threw it!

my Ginger Jar

Accidentally, the object hit a beautiful valuable bowl, which subsequently broke!

The result was that my parents were angry. I grabbed a tube of glue and glued all the pieces back together. In my mind, I can still see myself sitting in that spot where I attempted to glue it, feeling very sad!

Now, about 60 years later, I continue this line of thought and arrive at “Kintsugi”.

A Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold-colored lacquer.

In Japanese aesthetics, the traces of breakage and repair contribute to the beauty of the object. There are similarities with sashiko, where an attempt is also made to restore and beautify the object through repairs.
