We have had a farm home on Bliss Hill Road for 15 years. What great road name for the road, right? I am sadly going to pack up our belongings and spend a few more nightfalls there before we move.
People tell me its just stuff I am leaving behind…that it is time to downsize…that it is just a house and it can be replaced and ….we will find another place just as lovely. Deep in my heart , I know better. I think not. This one is too close to my heart to ever replace. It was home to us in more ways than I can explain. I will forever honor the privilege of this home and the life experiences I have had there. Our Bliss Hill Road home is irreplaceable.

I know I am taking with me all the sweet memories-
of the kids growing up there over the summers and winter vacations
skiing, snowboarding and snowshoes walks
maple syrup and hot chocolate on bitter cold days
cows and more cows in 4 H shows with Deb, Shelby and Adele
watching Stan’s cheese business grow
building a barn and workshop for me
house renovations
mice and bats
Mandy and Lucy running free with the kids day after day
4th of July fireworks in the Green Mountains
Vermont friendships
sweet alone time for Marc and I
But for a few more nights next week, I will enjoy the Bliss Hill Road Nightfalls. I hope to see the brightest stars ever amongst the fall foliage in the Green Mountains. And I will say good bye to all that our Bliss Hill Road farm house has meant to our family. And I will grieve it’s loss to our family by taking a few more hikes. Even if it is raining. I wish you were closer sweet home in Vermont.
