Last week Karol announced a new prompt – faces – our first prompt of Round Three’s overall theme of Structures. I’m having a hard time coming up with an idea for a new piece related to faces. As Karol mentioned, faces can mean portraits or caricature or anything that is forward facing. There are many expressions related to faces. Face the music, face time, happy face, long in the face, face to face, deface, facial recognition. I think I’ll play to my strengths and build a façade.
Here’s a snippet of my work in progress. I work improvisationally, piecing small bits of fabric to build each quilt. I love moving from design wall to sewing machine….design then engineer, right brain then left brain, and again. It’s a rhythm, up the ladder, down the ladder, building, creating, building. I look forward to sharing the finished piece at the end of July.
Fantastic! The depth and bodlness of colour is just what we are all seeking just now…Patience, and we will wait and know this will be dynamic!
I have a plan, just executing…we’ll see.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I’m struggling, too.
