Our small international group of eleven artists began working together in the summer of 2017.  Every two months, we received a prompt from one of our members, to which we responded in thoughts, images and fibers.  We agreed on an overall theme of Unusual Prompts, and each of us was inspired to try new techniques and themes over the two year time period.  The prompts and the work were varied, thoughtful and wonderful!  In the next few days, we will be revealing our last quilts from Round One.  The current theme, presented by our Japanese member, Mikiko Takase, is Masks.  All of the work from our first round can be seen on our website http://www.clothincommon.com

We plan to continue on for another two years (and beyond?) Two members have elected to leave the group due to other commitments.  We wish a fond farewell to Colleen Kole and Leah Higgins. The group is delighted to welcome three new members, who will be working with us in the next round: Catherine McDonald of New Zealand, Doerte-Ina Liebing of Germany, and Deb Cashatt of California. Our new general theme for upcoming prompts is Community.  The first prompt will be presented on June 1st.

We are planning some exhibits of our work in the near future, and look forward to sharing our quilts with viewers in person.  Meanwhile, we love getting feedback, so please visit our blog, and share your thoughts with us!  https://www.clothincommon.com/blog

Thank you so much for following our progress.
