The dead people of Japan are said to return to this world for a short time during the summer. Many cities and towns have fireworks displays as a way to guide the dead back to their world.

Fireworks are launched at the waterside and their reflections illuminate the surface of the water. The fireworks in the sky are enjoyed by the people of this world and the water reflections are a gift for the dead.

This conveys the continuing love of people for their ancestors. I hope to be part of this beautiful tradition that connects all the generations of the human community.
