Flexible Re-Use

My response to the prompt “Flexible” demanded a flexible approach.  No inspiration came to me until the words “Flexible Use” popped into my head. That is, things that can be used in more than one way.  Umbrellas for example. They shield us from both sun and rain. Mary Poppins used hers as a means of transportation. Photographers use them in their studio. Diners eat under their shade, and I even saw demonstrators in Hong Kong use them to block invasive cameras. They can also be weapons, or canes.

And, they have a pleasing shape. The background of my quilt consists of antique hankies, a gift from a friend. And when another friend sent me her DIOP (Diaspora Inspired Apparel) face masks I was eager to remake them into little umbrellas. With discarded sunglass earpieces as handles. All flexibly re-used!

「柔軟」というプロンプトに対する私の応答には、柔軟なアプローチが必要でした。 「FlexibleUse」という言葉が頭に浮かぶまで、インスピレーションは得られませんでした。 つまり、複数の方法で使用できるものです。 たとえば傘。 彼らは私たちを太陽と雨の両方から守ります。 メアリーポピンズは彼女を移動手段として使用しました。 写真家は彼らのスタジオでそれらを使用します。 ダイナーは日陰で食事をし、香港のデモ隊が侵入型カメラをブロックするためにそれらを使用しているのを見ました。 それらはまた、武器または杖である可能性があります。

そして、それらは心地よい形をしています。 背景は、友人からの贈り物であるアンティークハンカチで構成されています。 そして、別の友人が彼女のDIOP（Diaspora Inspired Apparel）フェイスマスクを送ってくれたとき、私はそれらを小さな傘に作り直したいと思っていました。 ハンドルとして廃棄されたサングラスのイヤピース付き。 すべて柔軟に再利用！
