From a physical point of view, light has wave properties.

To prove this, the double-slit experiment was developed. Light is sent from a light source through two narrow parallel gaps onto a projection surface. If the light were not a wave, only two points would be visible on the projection surface. Due to the wave properties of the light, however, the light spreads out evenly and the interference pattern is created by superimposition and cancellation of the waves.
