We do not realize how lines of many kinds affect our daily lives. Lines on the highways. Lines in store checkouts. Lines we read in books and newspapers. A few years ago while in India, lines became overwhelmingly apparent. Walking through the crowded alleyways, the electrical power lines were in the thousands hanging from shops and apartments just inches it seem from our heads. Lines stamped on beautiful saris and in the wonderful tile work in every home and Temple. All with meaning.

  1. Welcome, Al! Your post is a super reminder of all of the intricate and yet somewhat beautiful and important lines that fill our daily lives. LOVE the paper rolls/yarn and amazed by the wires in India.

  2. on a mission trip to Honduras–we were digging a water well, one of the volunteers with me was a registered electrician in the United States—he was speechless when he saw the electrical lines in downtown Tegucigalpa—capital of Honduras—looked much like your photo of India. Interesting also–they skipped the landline phone system and went directly to cell phones.

I took a photo of extension cords hanging over a concrete barrier at a motorcycle race track and used that as the basis for a piece-.

This prompt should prove very interesting.
