Virtually all of my quilts have stories.  What should I do? I received a tablecloth from a friend about the same time as I got this prompt. So that would be my starting point. I learned the story of the item. Kathy found it at the back of the closet in her cousin’s house after the cousin died. Kathy said, “Hm, that’s pretty,” and took it home, but never used it. Too fancy. She gave it to her friend Ann. Who also never used it. Ann gave it to me. I intend to give it new life.

物語！

私が作るキルトには、ほぼすべてに物語があります。さて、何から始めましょうか。ちょうどこのお題をいただいた頃、友人からテーブルクロスを譲り受けました。それが今回の出発点になりそうです。その品にまつわる物語を教えてもらいました。キャシーのいとこが亡くなった後、彼女の家のクローゼットの奥からそれが見つかったのです。キャシーは「あら、素敵」と思って持ち帰ったものの、結局一度も使いませんでした。あまりに立派すぎたからです。そこで友人のアンに譲ったのですが、アンもまた使わずにいました。そして、アンから私へと渡ってきたのです。私はこのクロスに、新しい命を吹き込もうと考えています。
