I looked up some quotes about time.  A few resonated with my thoughts about the subject.

“How did it get so late so soon?”  ― Dr. Seuss   We never seem to have enough of it.  It flies by so quickly.  Maybe we have plenty of time, but too much to do.

We have only today. Let us begin.”  ― Mother Theresa     Can’t go back.  Can’t go forward.

All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.”  ― Susan Sontag     In a photo, time, for once, stands still.  Photos can take us back in time.  Sometimes provoking forgotten memories.

“Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time, who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done, if we are always doing.”
― Thomas Jefferson, Letters of Thomas Jefferson

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
― John Lubbock, The Use Of Life

“It is looking at things for a long time that ripens you and gives you a deeper meaning.” ― Vincent Van Gogh    Similar thoughts are found in Mary Oliver’s poetry.

“Things take the time they take. Don’t— / worry.”  -Mary Oliver

“The chief beauty about time
is that you cannot waste it in advance.
The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you,
as perfect, as unspoiled,
as if you had never wasted or misapplied
a single moment in all your life.
You can turn over a new leaf every hour
if you choose.”
― Arnold Bennett
We all receive the gift of 24 hours in each day.  Seems like we don’t always have the choice as to how we use it, but we can try!

Thinking about how the times are changing – I sometimes wish I could go back in time.

I like to think about having the time of my life.  Best times.
