It didn’t take me long to figure out what I was going to do for this prompt. I have actually lost a world.
In 2015, my mom and her siblings sold off the last of the family property. I spent many wonderful times there with family and friends. “The dam” was a reservoir where I fished, swam, camped, and picked blackberries. Years before the property was sold, the dam was no longer used to irrigate the fields, and Mother Nature took over. Where there once was the most amazing green water, there are now full sized trees and more blackberry bushes. It’s truly a lost world.
Keeping with my goal of creating pieced quilts with symbographs, my lost world will be full of meaningful symbols. Here are a few.
Come back next week to see how all of the Cloth in Common artists depict their lost worlds in quilts.
Ah, that reminds me of my own lost worlds of childhood. I don’t have such a dramatic story though!
I wish it weren’t so dramatic!
You had a natural wonderland to explore! Lucky kid to grow up with that much nature to play in.
Teenage years and older…. But it was still a wonderful place.
Cant wait to see this quilt
It’s getting there. Still quilting!
