I was just about to settle down for the night, when I thought I should check my calendar, and I see that it is my turn to blog about our current theme, Dare to Dream! So before I venture off to dreamland tonight, I will write a few thoughts to share.

I have always had unusual dreams. Like the one about my grandmother winning a sit up contest. I should write them down, because some are so far fetched that I don’t remember them for very long. I often awake wondering why in the world I would dream such crazy things.

Sometimes my dreams are frightening. Even though I have been retired from teaching for 15 years now, I still occasionally have work nightmares. It seems like PTSD when I dream that the students won’t behave, or that I’m not prepared for class.

I have decided to approach this challenge from a different angle, and make a quilt about getting an idea and reaching for a dream goal. I’m remembering a time that I got excited about an adventure, and I started thinking about the possibilities. Happily, this dream came to be and it was a great one!.

When I wake up tomorrow, it will be my birthday, and the next day is Christmas! I will have happy dreams for sure.

ちょうど寝ようとしていた時、ふとカレンダーを確認してみようと思い立ちました。すると、今月のテーマ「夢に挑戦！」についてブログを書く番が私だということに気づきました。そこで、今夜夢の世界へ旅立つ前に、いくつか思いついたことを書き留めておこうと思います。 私は昔から変わった夢を見ることが多いんです。例えば、祖母が腹筋運動コンテストで優勝する夢とか。あまりにも突飛な夢なので、すぐに忘れてしまうものもあるから、書き留めておいた方がいいかもしれません。目が覚めるたびに、「一体どうしてこんな奇妙な夢を見るんだろう？」と不思議に思います。 時々、怖い夢を見ることもあります。教職を退いてからもう15年になりますが、今でも時々仕事に関する悪夢を見ます。生徒たちが言うことを聞かない夢や、授業の準備ができていない夢などを見ると、まるでPTSDのようです。 そこで、今回のテーマには少し違った角度からアプローチしてみようと思い、アイデアを思いつき、夢の目標に向かって努力する様子をキルトで表現してみることにしました。以前、ある冒険にワクワクした時のことを思い出しています。その時、様々な可能性について考え始めました。幸いなことに、その夢は実現し、素晴らしい経験となりました！ 明日目が覚めたら、私の誕生日です。そして明後日はクリスマス！きっと素敵な夢が見られるでしょう。
