Well, this was a last-minute pivot for me. My original idea was not working out for various reasons, so I needed to completely change tack at the end hence why I am a few days late! So based on the prompt “Celebrate” I am celebrating that I have finally got something finished however when I knew I needed to change tack I was learning about Artemis II and how there was a new trip to the moon and back. This is worth celebrating.
I remember sitting riveted to the TV when Apollo 11 landed on the moon and the first steps were taken. That was so long ago, nearly 57 years! Yike’s time has flown by from being a little child to where I am now but throughout that time, I have consistently been amazed at the change in technology. Apollo 11 went to the moon on computers with little memory compared with today. Our cell phones are minicomputers that are more powerful than those of that time, even those with the new watches are more powerful. Change in technology has brought many benefits for everyday life but also many challenges through loss of skills, jobs and almost at a point of too much information maybe?
what does this lift off represent – will we see so many changes in the next 50 years? I wonder what life will be like then? No doubt the human race will adapt to life whatever it is. So today let’s just celebrate where we have got to and enjoy the moment.
P.S. I see MANY MOONS!
Brilliant! I am reading this just moments after following a story about Artemis ll. Isn’t it strangely wonderful how many of our members ( especially me) struggle from the first day we receive a NEW prompt and go through many idea changes and finally just days before the deadline we get that BRILLIANT idea! Bravo!
I really like this piece. I don’t know what you initially intended but the pivot is a win in my opinion. The circles all over the backround are captivating. I wish I knew how you did that.
