I got the idea from the roof tiles, a material that makes up the roof of a traditional Korean house, Hanok. The form of overlapping roof tiles was represented as a repetitive pattern.
I was able to experience through this work that a simple pattern can have a strong and impressive effect when combined with repetition, subtle variation, and the use of colors.
In certain aspects, I think that simplicity can be more effective and powerful than complexity.
